The most natural and effective forms of CBD

CBD, the way nature intended

First Things First: What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol (pronounced can-uh-bid-i-ul). Cannabidiol is one of more than 110 plant compounds called cannabinoids that can be taken from the flower and leaves of the hemp plant.

CBD is non-intoxicating, so it won't get you high, but it will relax your mind and body and has a number of other therapeutic benefits.

How does CBD work?

The Endocannabinoid System

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is a system in our bodies that helps maintain balance and regulate various functions such as mood, sleep, appetite, and pain response.

It has receptors in different parts of our bodies that interact with natural compounds called cannabinoids. Our bodies naturally produce some cannabinoids internally and others, like CBD, are found in external sources such as the hemp plant.

When we take CBD, it influences the endocannabinoid system, helping to promote balance and well-being in our mind and body.

CBD for Skin health

CBD offers a wide variety of benefits for skin health that make it a valuable addition to any spa or massage therapy practice. CBD is a potent anti-inflammatory with antioxidant and moisturizing properties making it an ideal product for any skincare regimen.

Dry skin: CBD is rich in omegas 6 and 9 and helps maintain the skin's hydration levels and improve overall texture.

Oily skin: CBD can help regulate sebum production and may also help heal and repair damaged skin that comes from pimples.

Acne: CBD not only inhibits overactive oil production but may also reduce pain sensitivity and inflammation caused by acne. It may also reduce the chances of scarring.

Skin conditions: CBD may help with conditions such as eczema and psoriasis by promoting healthy life cycles in skin cells, reducing pain and inflammation, and reducing risk of scarring.

Wrinkles: as an antioxidant, CBD aids in combating free radicals and cleansing the skin from environmental damage it received during the day. It also acts as a rejuvenator, keeping cells young and healthy.

Cuts and scrapes: CBD can encourage wounds to heal faster by reducing redness, swelling, and irritation. It has also shown the ability to reduce scarring, leaving skin blemish free.

With its multipurpose advantages, CBD offers a natural and holistic approach to promoting healthy, radiant skin.

So what's the CBDa difference?

CBDa is a less processed, more raw form of CBD. Unlike CBD, CBDa is actually found in the hemp plant, naturally. At Enso Earth, we believe the less you mess with nature, the better, and science backs us up (more on that below).

Fun fact. In order to produce the standard CBD you find on the market, you would first need a more whole form cannabinoid (such as CBDa) then use heat, pressure, and/or chemicals to break it down into CBD.

Why do so many companies produce CBD instead of CBDa?

To put it simply, CBD is easier to produce, and it's more well known. Specialized systems and extraction methods are needed to preserve more whole plant forms of cannabinoids like CBDa.

At Enso Earth, we only use the highest quality extraction method and employ advanced techniques to ensure the purity, potency, and integrity of the extracted hemp oil, and all of our products are tested by a third party lab. This way may be more complex, but we believe it’s the way it should be done.

We also believe you deserve the highest quality and most effective form of CBD, and we're proud to be early pioneers of CBDa.

Why are you so passionate about CBDa?

While research is early, compared to traditional CBD, studies have shown CBDa to be more easily absorbed by the body, kick in quicker and last longer, and simply offer greater efficacy and potency power in many instances.

Anti-inflammatory: CBDA has a very similar structure to NSAIDs like acetaminophen and ibuprofen, and In a specific study, CBDA was found to be more effective than THC in blocking the enzyme COX-2, which is produced during inflammation.

Anti-nausea & anti-anxiety: a study found that CBDA is more than 1000x more effective than CBD in activating a serotonin receptor that reduces nausea and anxiety.

Anti-tumor: Another study found that CBDA is an inhibitor of highly aggressive human breast cancer cell migration.

Mood enhancer: Research shows that CBDA is more than 100 times as effective than CBD at bonding to 5-HT receptors which is a great benefit for serotonin production. Early results indicate that CBDA may even be as effective as common SSRI antidepressants.

It's important to note that while these studies provide valuable insights, more research is needed to fully understand the benefits and mechanisms of action of CBDA. Additionally, individual responses may vary, and it is always recommended to consult with a healthcare professional before using CBDA or any other dietary supplement for therapeutic purposes.

What is the Entourage Effect and why is it important?

The Entourage Effect is an important concept when it comes to CBD products. It refers to the idea that the various compounds found in hemp, such as cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and others, work together synergistically to enhance the potential health benefits.

It’s kind of like baking a cake. All of the ingredients work together to make a delicious end result. If you leave out an ingredient or two, you still might get a similar product, but it won’t be at its best.

Similarly, in Full Spectrum CBD products, all the natural compounds work together to create a more powerful effect.

Research consistently shows that including the full range of cannabinoids, including a small amount of THC (less than 0.3%), along with other plant compounds, results in a more comprehensive and effective experience.

All EnsoEarth products utlize the Entourage Effect.

Common terms you may read when learning about our CBD - explained

Full Spectrum

Full Spectrum CBD products are made from hemp using a special process that extracts the whole plant. They have cannabinoids that occur naturally (including less than 0.3% THC), plant terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and plant proteins from the original hemp. These substances all work together and are often called the "Entourage Effect," which means they enhance the potential health benefits.

Whole Plant Hemp Extract

Whole plant extract is a term used to describe unrefined extract that contains a broader range of compounds naturally present in the hemp plant, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other beneficial components. This form of CBD retains more of the plant's natural characteristics and is considered closer to its original state.

Broad Spectrum

Broad Spectrum CBD products, start with Full Spectrum extract but undergo additional processing to eliminate even trace amounts of THC. While Broad Spectrum products still retain many of the natural components found in Full Spectrum, they may not offer the same level of effectiveness. The presence of THC in Full Spectrum products contributes to its enhanced therapeutic potential, making it the preferred choice for those seeking the most comprehensive CBD experience.

CBD Isolate

CBD Isolate is considered the least effective form of CBD available. It is produced by extracting and isolating only the CBD molecule from the Full Spectrum extract. This process removes all other beneficial compounds, including cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, minerals, and plant proteins. What remains is a pure, white powder that consists solely of CBD

Hemp

Hemp belongs to the Cannabis Sativa L. plant species and must have minimal THC levels (below 0.3%) to be legally classified as hemp in the US. It's a very versatile plant with many uses including fiber production for clothing and paper, nutritious seeds and seed oil, and is used as a sustainable building material. As a crop, hemp helps remove chemicals and heavy metals from soil, further enhancing its environmentally conscious appeal.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp seed oil is a nutrient-rich oil extracted from hemp seeds. It is abundant in vitamin E, omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, as well as linoleic acid and oleic acid. However, it does not contain CBD or any other cannabinoids found in the flower and leaves of the hemp plant.

Cannabis

The plant species to which both marijuana and hemp belong is called Cannabis Sativa L. While there is a trend of referring to marijuana as "cannabis," it is important to note that cannabis is a broader term that encompasses the entire plant species, including both marijuana and hemp.

Cannabinoid

Cannabinoids are naturally occurring plant-based compounds found in the cannabis plant. While THC and CBD are the most prominent cannabinoids, there are at least 113 known cannabinoids. Others include CBDA and CBN which are featured in our products.

Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a vital system within the body that contributes to maintaining balance and stability, known as homeostasis. Its receptors are widely distributed throughout various body systems, including the skin, immune cells, heart, brain, and digestive system. The ECS plays a role in regulating processes such as pain, mood, and immunity. CBD supports the Endocannabinoid System, helping to foster a state of overall balance and promoting optimal wellness throughout the body.

Non-Intoxicating

Non-intoxicating refers to substances that do not induce uninhibited behavior or impair normal brain function, cognition, or physical control of the body. CBD, in particular, is considered non-intoxicating, meaning it does not produce a state of intoxication or impairment. This characteristic of CBD contributes to its perceived safety and makes it a popular choice for its potential health and wellness benefits.
